CCI’s Pre-K Initiative seeks to create a right for all 3- and 4-year-olds in New York State. We believe this strategy to be the most effective and sustainable way to reach the goal of financing a high-quality set of services for 3- and 4-year-olds, as a key component of the a prenatal to third-grade system to support children’s learning and healthy development.


CCI brings its own deep knowledge of early childhood service delivery and financing, and a long history of leadership in advocacy for quality early care and education to this project, as well as strong partnerships with key leaders in public education finance, policy and advocacy in New York, including the Campaign for Educational Equity and the Alliance for Quality Education.  Our multi-year effort seeks to take advantage of the significant policymaker and public enthusiasm for expanding pre-K and builds on a growing concern about the need to establish a coherent, equitable and sustainable financing strategy to support for pre-K.
